Personal injury attorney Karl Truman has ties to the Louisville and Jeffersonville area from childhood, when his family moved to Taylorsville, KY for his father’s job with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the building of Taylorsville Lake. Mr. Truman graduated from Taylorsville High School before attending the University of Kentucky and completing law school at the University of Louisville.
Community Involvement
Because of Mr. Truman’s deep connections to the area, he is very active in the local community. He is an emeritus of the Board of Directors for the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and he has served on the Town Council of Sellersburg, Indiana, as well as on the Sellersburg Planning and Zoning Board and the Board of Zoning Appeals.
While on the Sellersburg Town Council, Mr. Truman also served as liaison to the Sellersburg Police Department. Mr. Truman is also a member of Leadership Southern Indiana.
Our Work with Veterans
Mr. Truman also feels close ties to the military, as he served as an officer in the Army. As such, he is always looking for ways to honor our veterans. In addition to providing assistance with veteran disability claims, he has sponsored events such as:
- Operation Christmas Spirit, in which 10 deserving military families were able to enjoy a complimentary holiday dinner.
- Indiana and Kentucky Veterans of the Year Awards, which recognize veterans who in addition to their military service also provide service to their local communities.
- Bluegrass Honor Flight, where a veteran from WWII, Vietnam, or Korea is flown to Washington, DC with a guard of honor to view their name on a monument.
- Flag Ride for USA Cares, which was a motorcycle ride in support of USA Cares, a program aimed at assisting veterans in getting the help they need to reintegrate into society and treat any medical conditions.
Mr. Truman has also received the Clark County Humanitarian Award for his volunteer work with the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.
Our staff are also proud members of their communities, and many serve in volunteer capacities for local charitable organizations and efforts.
